Baby Boy Diaper Cake-
We made a diaper cake to use as table decoration
(and as a gift for the new mom).
Items needed:
Package of 80 diapers (we used size 1 pampers)
Tons of rubber bands (all sizes)
Wide white ribbon & plaid ribbon
Silk flowers (We used hydrangeas)
Small Teddy bear for the top.
Cardboard cake plate 16" to 18"
1 bottle of Martinelli's sparkling apple cider

We used a hot glue gun to glue the base of the
sparkling apple cider to the cardboard cake base
for stability.

Bottom layer- Use 5 diapers and wrap around
base of apple cider and rubber band it. Then take
40  diapers and unfold each one and roll up jelly
roll style, attach a rubber band. Gather them
together around the bottle and attach a large
rubber band around it to hold it together.

Second layer- For the next layer we wrapped the
bottle again using three or four diapers with a
rubberband and then used approximately 20 rolled
diapers to make the second layer and again used
a large rubber band to secure the layer.

Last layer - wrap bottle with two diapers and follow
the same directions using approx 10 rolled diapers
and another rubber band. See photos

Decorate each layer using wide white ribbon. We
wrapped it with two layers of white to cover the
entire edge.  (we used craft ribbon from Walmart.
Then add plaid ribbon over the top and tie in a
bow or knot.

Attach silk flowers using glue gun.

Attach teddy bear on the top. We used a wooden
skewer leaving part of it sticking up to allow the
bear to sit up.

Have fun and be creative!
Baby Shower Cupcakes!

Cupcake recipe - Using a white cake mix
we added 1 small package of vanilla
pudding, 1 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup water,
1/2 cup oil and 4 eggs. Baked them at 350
for 20 min.

Buttercream frosting-

Using different tips we put colored frosting
into ziploc baggies and piped on different
looks for our cupcakes. Squiggles, polka
dots, swirls etc... just have fun. Then we
embellished them with fun decorations like
blue sugar, white tiny dots, and large
confetti. So much fun to make each one

Safey Pin Rice game- We played find the
safety pins in bowls of rice with your eyes
closed! It is hard to tell the safety pin from a
piece of rice...try it you'll see.!! We gave each
person 30 seconds to find as many as they

What's in the bag- Using paper sacks....put
one baby item (pacifiers, bottles, bottle brush,
nail trimmers, bulb syringe, medicine dropper,
etc... in each bag. Staple bag so no one can
see what is in it. Number each bag. Have
each person feel the outside of the bag and
write down what they think is in the bag.

Guess the poop- Using a few diapers fill
each diaper (small amount)  with some
favorite chocolate candy, melt it in the
microwave. Pass the lovely warm bundles
around and have guests guess what the
"poop" is! Hysterical!

Baby Scramble- See photo right.
