| FROSTED BANANA BARS (Scrumptious) From: Taste of Home Another Family Favorite...bet you can't eat just one piece!! 1/2 C. soft butter, or margarine 2 C. sugar 3 eggs 1 1/2 C. mashed ripe bananas (3) 1 t. vanilla 2 C. flour 1 t. baking soda pinch of salt Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, bananas and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Pour into a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, or until bars test done. Cool. Frosting: 1/2 C. soft butter, or margarine 1 package (8ox) cream cheese, softened 4 C. confectioner’s sugar 2 t. vanilla Cream butter and cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Gradually add confectioner’s sugar and vanilla; beat well. Spread over bars. Yields 3 dozen. |
Favorite Lemon Bar Recipe INGREDIENTS: 2 sticks (8 ounces) butter 2 cups flour 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar 4 beaten eggs 2 cups sugar 4 tablespoons flour 1/4 cup lemon juice 1 tablespoon finely grated lemon peel sifted confectioners' sugar PREPARATION: Heat oven to 325°. Blend butter, 2 cups flour and 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar. Pat into ungreased 13x9x2-inch pan. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes. For filling, blend together eggs, sugar, 4 tablespoons flour, lemon juice, and lemon peel. Pour over first layer. Return to oven and bake at 325° for 20 minutes. Loosen around edges, cut into bars and sift confectioners' sugar over the top while warm. |
